In February Nate and his dad took Gabe skiing for the second time and he loved it again. He even got a season pass for this year and next. I have to say I'm glad he likes it but the chair lift really scares me!
Something important to note that happened in January and is still going on strong... Gabe decided to be potty trained! Despite many attempts by Nate and I, he wasn't ready until HE was ready. One day about 2 weeks after we brought his sister home from the hospital he said "I am going to wear underwear now"... And just like that he was potty trained. Really! Not to say we didn't have a few accidents along the way - but he hasn't regressed even once! (Knock on wood) Lesson I learned here was not to push. When it's time, it will happen!

Slackfest in 2012 & a 3 year old
Well I have to admit that I (obviously) spent the majority of 2012 not blogging. I wish I did. To be honest, I really just forgot about it because I was so busy with everything else! A toddler can be quite demanding! Since the last post on Baby Gabey's blog, Gabe has a baby sister! I was reading back through Gabe's baby posts and thought how nice it was to have and I should really do a blog for his sister, Elise, too.
So here we are, March 16, 2013 and Gabe is 3. It's really sad. I really want our baby back. But at the same time, it's so great. He's quite an amazing little boy. I feel he's very smart. Do all parents say that? I actually think he is. He knows numbers, letters, etc. He's really inquisitive and asks a lot of questions - and always remembers the answers. He absolutely has the most energy of any 3 year old I've ever seen. This is good and bad. More draining than bad :)
He is quite fascinated with Thomas the Train for some time now. He also really loves Cars 2 (Lightning McQueen, Mater, etc.).
There's so much about him right now that I could probably spend the entire day talking about him. Instead I'm going to post a few recent pictures and try to be more dedicated to updating the blog.
The first two pictures are of Gabe with what he loves most - his trains!
Here he is holding his new baby sister. His shirt says "Best Big Bro" - and he really is! He couldn't be a sweeter, more loving baby brother.

Orion's Belt
Gabe stays up way later than a 2 year old should. We know some parents like to put their kids down to bed early and then enjoy the calm. We really don't mind having Gabe up, we hate putting him to bed. I'm sure this will backfire eventually.
Back to the point. Every night before "bed", Nate goes downstairs to let Taylor out (when she's not having a sleepover at Frank's). If Gabe is still up (and he often is) he yells "I coming, I coming"!!!
Nate got into the habit of taking Gabe with him. When it was warm and now when it's cold. Gabe likes to go see the moon and the stars. For the longest time he'd come in and tell me he saw the moon and he saw a star.
Then Nate showed him "Orion's Belt". Now, for the past few weeks, every time Nate goes to let Taylor out, Gabe will say "I coming, I coming, I see Ryan belt". He's just the sweetest thing.
Tonight he did the usual. Then he came in and said "I see Ryan belt. I see snow. I cold. I lay in Daddy's bed. Mommy hold it" (means 'hold me').
I love him more than all the stars in the sky! Here he is after his bath.

Holidays 2011
Well I've been a major slacker as usual. Gabe has been having a great time between all the holidays and his birthday! We really can't believe he is two. He is just the sweetest boy in the whole world.
For his second birthday, we had a baseball party at the PHA Warehouse, he loves it there. It was hard to get a picture of him standing still because he was running around the whole time!
Christmas was so much fun this year - he really enjoyed it more this year because he understood so much more. He wasn't a big fan of Santa - we couldn't even get a picture of him with Santa! He liked the tree and he really liked opening presents!
And of course we had the actual birthday! We had some fun presents for him when he woke up and then at night we took him to Friendly's for birthday dinner and ice cream!

Pun-gin.
Pungin. That's what Gabe calls a pumpkin :)
Tonight we carved pumpkins. Gabe definitely did not want to touch
the yucky insides. Daddy had to handle all of that. He didn't want to
stop carving though. He also thought the "pungin" needed a "binggy".
He had a good time!
Something funny Gabe is doing now... Whenever he burps or toots,
he gets a grin on his face and says "piddy" (Piggy). It's so cute!

Happy Boy!
This past weekend we took Gabe to the Fall Festival at Pioneer Evergreen Farms.
He had a fantastic time. We love seeing how happy he is!
He thought it was funny to stick his head through the scarecrow.
throwing balls around and a few hit him in the face. He didn't even care, he was having
such a good time!
This is another great shot of him in the bouncies. He was really just thrilled
to be there. He really enjoyed having out with his buddies "Dack" (Jack) and "Wyan" (Ryan)

Gabe's First Vacation
Well Gabe went on his first vacation! We spent 5 days in Point Pleasant, NJ. During the day, we mostly hung out at the pool. It was heated and Gabe loved swimming around. We made lots of new friends and enjoyed relaxing and getting some sun.
We went to the beach one day. Gabe was really scared of the ocean, hopefully next year he'll be more confident. He loved playing in the sand though.
Of course we went out to eat a lot! Gabe's favorite thing about vacation was boats. Every time we put him in the car seat, he'd say "a boat, a boat" because he knew he'd probably get to see a boat at dinner!

Getting back on the blog train!
I have been slacking big time. Now that it is summer, I'm hoping to post more regularly about our sweet boy. So much has happened since he turned one!
Some of our favorite things about him right now:
He's trying to talk. Lots of words, sentences, yelling, etc. We have a bunch of different flash cards and he really amazes us with how many words he can say. Some are more recognizable than others.
He knows what things are! If we say swimming or outside, he gets really excited. If we try to give him something he doesn't want, he says "no" and shakes his head. We really like the increase in communication!
Whenever he hears music, the dancing begins.
Right now our days are busy with playing outside; his bubble mower is his favorite but he also likes baseball. After his nap, we have been going to the pool - which he loves. He's a little too brave in the water, I really have to keep an eye on him.
More to come!

Happy 2011 :)
Well I am a big time blog slacker. I need to get back on track here!
Gabe turned one and he completes our life! We love him so much we just can't stand it!
He's now walking (sometimes almost running), trying to climb, saying a few words, and being a picky eater! So we have a perfect, typical toddler! He loves to pick toys up and throw them. His favorite "toy" right now is Nate's old cell phone - he likes to make the ringtones play. Don't ask me how he gets to the music section, I wonder myself.
