Well Gabe went on his first vacation! We spent 5 days in Point Pleasant, NJ. During the day, we mostly hung out at the pool. It was heated and Gabe loved swimming around. We made lots of new friends and enjoyed relaxing and getting some sun.
We went to the beach one day. Gabe was really scared of the ocean, hopefully next year he'll be more confident. He loved playing in the sand though.
Of course we went out to eat a lot! Gabe's favorite thing about vacation was boats. Every time we put him in the car seat, he'd say "a boat, a boat" because he knew he'd probably get to see a boat at dinner!

Getting back on the blog train!
I have been slacking big time. Now that it is summer, I'm hoping to post more regularly about our sweet boy. So much has happened since he turned one!
Some of our favorite things about him right now:
He's trying to talk. Lots of words, sentences, yelling, etc. We have a bunch of different flash cards and he really amazes us with how many words he can say. Some are more recognizable than others.
He knows what things are! If we say swimming or outside, he gets really excited. If we try to give him something he doesn't want, he says "no" and shakes his head. We really like the increase in communication!
Whenever he hears music, the dancing begins.
Right now our days are busy with playing outside; his bubble mower is his favorite but he also likes baseball. After his nap, we have been going to the pool - which he loves. He's a little too brave in the water, I really have to keep an eye on him.
More to come!

Happy 2011 :)
Well I am a big time blog slacker. I need to get back on track here!
Gabe turned one and he completes our life! We love him so much we just can't stand it!
He's now walking (sometimes almost running), trying to climb, saying a few words, and being a picky eater! So we have a perfect, typical toddler! He loves to pick toys up and throw them. His favorite "toy" right now is Nate's old cell phone - he likes to make the ringtones play. Don't ask me how he gets to the music section, I wonder myself.

We have a crawler
Well the weekly updates are a thing of the past :) Now that Gabe is crawling, there is very little "down time"! Around 7 months, he started crawling like a fool! He can move across the room very quickly. He is also sitting on his own and babbling. He says baba, dada, mama, and all sorts of other things. We like to think he knows he's saying dada and mama but we're not sure yet!

28 Weeks

Okay, taking a break from the scrapblog...
Gabe is now 28 weeks old. We really can't believe how big he is!
He had his 6 month checkup at the pediatrician and he weighed in at 17.3 pounds and 27 inches long. He is still in the 75th percentile.
He is army crawling around like crazy and can gain some serious ground very quickly. He isn't quite sitting up alone yet but he can sit with some help.
We think he's still teething even though no teeth have emerged :)
He's now tried quite a variety of foods:
Butternut Squash
Bananas
Sweet Potatoes
Apples
Green Beans
Peaches
Oatmeal
Pears
Carrots
Mangos
Sweet Peas
25 Weeks
I'm just starting to work with scrapblog.com so please excuse any "rookie" mistakes.
I think it's a fun way to give weekly updates.
At 25 weeks, Gabe is more fun every day. He is really starting to "talk" and we really look forward to his first words.
He's still eating solid foods - loving green beans and making faces at peaches and pears!
